About Us

GES Contractors is a painting and decorating and maintenance company that works on a variety of projects for public and private sector organisations offering commercial, industrial and domestic services.

GES strongly supports projects that help to give back to the community (encouraging the empowerment of ex-offenders and the long term unemployed). We are presently involved with a several agencies on a social enterprise initiative with the aim being to integrate ex-offenders back in to the work place.

Our role over the next 2 to 3 years is to employ a number of ex-offenders for a fixed term providing them with skills and opportunities, training and experience. Most of the scheme’s cohort come to us with some practical experience. Much of this experience has been gained whilst enrolled on courses delivered by The Manchester College.

Their employment with us will see them placed within an experienced team of painters and decorators where their training and skills will be taken to the next level. They will gain much needed hands on experience and this will culminate in an NVQ in Painting and Decorating. This education and practical experience provides them with the opportunity to find further occupational experience while simultaneously removing much of the stigma that comes with having served a prison sentence. Their time with us goes some way towards them rebuilding their life and becoming upstanding and constructive members of the community.
